The type of books we do not send

 

1.  A book is for any reason not wholesome; e.g., gratuitous sex, violence, etc.  These go in “Not Appropriate.”

 

2.  A book involves Witchcraft or Black Magic as a major theme; e.g., Harry Potter, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, etc. These go in “Food Bank books.” They can be distributed locally to people who better understand that this is simply make believe.

 

3. A book involves significant emphasis on American culture, American or local history, or materialism; e.g., The Guide to being a Valley Girl, Good TV Programs for Kids,Texas History, etc. These go in “Food Bank Books.”

 

 4. A non-fiction book is very old and therefore likely has outdated information.

 

 5. A book is in bad condition (missing pages, loose cover etc.).
