Books Distributed Locally - Good Steward is now working with the Emergency Aid Coalition (EAC) which operates the Emergency Food Pantry at the Houston Food Bank. We are supplying the Food Pantry with a "Take a Book" program; our goal is to help feed the body and the soul.  Our "Wrap a Christmas Book" celebration on Dec.3rd resulted in over 300 gently used books being presented to them for distribution.     

                       

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We have been a significant donor to:

 

Houston’s R.E.A.D. (Recycle Engage and Donate your Used Books) award winning Literacy promotion project (collecting books for hospitals shelters, disadvantaged youth)—several thousand surplus books, particularly when the project was just beginning.

                       

Arrow Academy Charter School and the Church at Bethel’s Family Library— several thousand surplus books.

                       

Harmony Charter School-several thousand surplus books donated

                       

Kids’ Reading Room –several hundred books donated to assist in building reading rooms in local apartment complexes.     

               

        Spanish language books-Over a thousand books in Spanish donated to local Church mission projects to help                 promote literacy and library programs in South Texas and Mexico.
